Before applying for the University of Cumbria I have some work experience involving with working with others or with clients. During primary school, in year 7 I had this experience of looking after younger students and helping them out. However, I wouldn't say this is a proper work experience but I did learn how to simplify confusing terms and being patient with them. I was already set on pursuing art after I finished primary and enrolled into High School. Although, I did not know what I wanted at that time and I just wanted to draw. So from 1st to 6th year I went with fine arts and learned different mediums. During that time, I also helped with my family Business. It is a Chinese takeaway called Golden Flower. I worked there as a cashier and helping out with packing up the food for the clients. Although, there were days that became busy and overwhelming for me. This made me realise, I need to work on my confidence more. However, it was a good experience in working with people and gave me more reason to pursue art furthermore to help with my family in a different way. That is doing requests on social media, so I had basic understanding of working with someone. Although, majority were free requests and I simply wanted to showcase my work in the communities I were in. This allowed me to work under pressure and improve my art skills faster and efficiently. Other work experiences I've gained was in college and I was able to work with clients. This gave me the chance to understand and work with real clients. As mentioned above, I had experience with working in art requests. I enjoyed working with them and it has allowed me to be organise and communicate professionally. One of the clients were from the local community to spread awareness for hoarding. Whilst, the other client deals with marine plastic. Both I did animation for, as I personally wanted to improve my animation skills more and using animation can express more than words.
