After much thought and stagnation, I personally did not like the idea I had previously. As such, I decided to restart and redo from the beginning. I didn't feel happy with where I am going and felt like I wasn't pushing myself. So went back to drawing board and looked through previous ideas. I decided to go with the idea I had and started 2 years ago. A personal project that I started since then. With that in mind, I gathered necessary images that focuses the head, body and the overall shape I wanted. So I looked as aquatic mammals, fish etc. Such as, sharks, dolphins, their skeletal structure and muscles structure as well. Finally happy with where I am going, I can fully start producing concepts. The idea I had is a moving continent with diverse ecosystem on their bodies. I chose these animals because they provide the optimal shapes that I wanted for my creature. That is why I gathered close up shots of their face or their back as well. To be honest, I wanted to draw flying whales to start with and so I can finally do what I wanted to do. My lecturer told to me look up at Discworld, a fantasy point and click game. There's a creature that's similar to my idea. A giant turtle that carries four elephants who also carrying the world as well. This further enhances my idea and went from there. I also looked at a site called Digimoprh. It is site that archives numerous animal skulls. This will help me in creating the body structure, if I want to make it realistic.
