I and everyone in the Game Design had a chance to attend online talk by Victoria Voy. She is animator and artist. When I heard there is animator doing a talk, never have I been excited to learn more about animating. I understand the basics of animating and have produce small animations now and then. I love all forms of animation but I always have this huge respect and admiration to hand drawn animations. My absolute favourite animators are Aaron Blaise, Hayao Miyazaki and more.
Victoria Voy's story was very compelling and moving. I really admire her strong will even after what happened with the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Victoria is from Ukraine and with the war ongoing, she lost her home and losing majority of her work. However, she and her family were able to evacuated safely. What she is working is will resonate strongly to those who are married, have a child or been through the same thing. I can never imagine what she been through as I live in UK. But her story moved me.

Throughout the talk, Victoria showcases the work she has been working on and few other animations she has done. The main work represent what she has been through. With the twist, that is done through the child's eye. I absolutely adore such concept as it reminds me of the stop-motion film Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson or Miyazaki's animated film Grave of the Fireflies. I would personally say, the style is more in line with Grave of the Fireflies. It is set in the theme of world war 2 and the film is told through the child's eyes. The film itself left a huge emotional impact on me and I couldn't stop crying after watching it. Her work has inspired me to work more on my animation skills and I am so excited to see the final product when it is done. I am also interested in helping her out with the animation. She is open with volunteers and I am considering this. To work closely with animator and learn from it, will definitely my work greatly.
