When I first picked up the pencil and started to draw, I fell in love with art and the creativity it comes along with it. However, as I grew older I noticed that my family doesn't support of such idea and seeing that Art is useless. I understood where they come from and Art is stereotypically seen as a "broke starving artists" or "Art isn't important as Doctor's Degree".

Even so, I still pursue art and as of now. There are numerous dream job I would love to go for and in the end, I simply just want to create and inspire other artists as well. Seeing artists I admire such as Wlop, J.C Leyendecker, Loish, Guweiz etc. The list can go on and the way they inspires numerous artists to achieve their dream is inspiring. What sparked the fire was watching How to Train Your Dragon on the big screen. Till this day, I still go back and be amazed of how far CGI/3D animation went. Playing games such as Monster Hunter also gave me the more reason to pursue art.

However, my true passion lies in becoming a Freelance Artist but I would not mind landing other jobs such as animating, concept artist, 3D artist - Modelling or Rigging, environmental artist etc. But having your own schedule and working for different clients feels like a suitable job for me. Although, I would love to to experience the Industry workload and challenge myself to improve my skills further. This is why I have chosen Game Design over Illustration course. I already know how to draw and doing the same thing over would hinder my growth. I do not regret choosing Game Design and I personally feel like my art have vastly improved more. And it's basically two things I am passionate about gaming and drawing as well. I like to challenge myself and I am prepared to face the challenge as I want to hone my skills and improve them further.

Marc Brunet @bluefley

Marc Brunet is an Artist who inspires me to become a Freelance Artist. I did a case study on him for University assignment. In short, he used to work for Blizzard Entertainment. I personally had a attachment to Blizzard Entertainment when I was young and I always have admire their CGI trailers and their designs for characters, environments etc. I always saw my brother playing World of Warcraft and I drew random sketches of weapon designs or obtainable mounts for future patches. However, with recent allegations I have lost my admiration to Blizzard Entertainment. But, I still look back on their past work such Diablo series.

When I discovered Marc used to work in Blizzard, it brought back fond memories of the time of doodling. His story of simply loving art and having more fun compared to other subjects. Resonates with me so well and that is why I admire Marc Brunet so much. He provides content to help artists to improve and willing to share few tips here and then. Marc's work is stylised and fresh yet also simple as well. I also love the world building he does for his characters. He sticks to what he loves and shares his experience with others, that is why he stands out from other artists. Whether I go in the future be it in a big company such as Dreamworks or Nintendo. I want to achieve my dream goal and tell others that they should pursue their dream. Becoming an inspiring role model and leaving an impact on people.

"Some people may claim that art is not important. Regardless of this perception, art is actually a powerful tool and an important part of society. Artist Olafur Eliasson asserts that art has the power to change the world because it has the power to touch people and help them identify with others from different backgrounds." - (Molly Howard, December 13 2021, Overcoming common Artist Stereotypes)
